February 5, 2008 - Jim Cutler (the national voice talent) has posted Encarta IV: Dark Hope as the first trailer on his official website. He has sent several correspondences of his appreciation of my work; this is truly a great honor. Check out the trailer section of his site, just press the play button. Also check out Jim’s mention of Star Trek: Encarta in his official blog.
For anyone who hasn’t checked out the 3 brand new trailers released this past weekend, check them out on my official YouTube page, or in HD. I encourage anyone who has a YouTube account to rate them highly… It’s a tuff world for artists out there…
As we near the spring release deadline, I would like to thank everyone who has supported the film over the past 4+ years. Despite many setbacks and missed deadlines this project will be the culmination of a great treasure that has existed in my heart for over a decade. Star Trek Encarta started in 1997 as a computer animated dream and became a reality with a cast and crew in 2000. From there we managed to release 3 sequels. Everyone involved has always been wonderful even through the thickest of times, (and as we all know Encarta always had major drawbacks) and I truly hope all will enjoy witnessing our final product together. As I write this preparations are underway on a brand new project, one of higher scopes that will flow to even greater artistic directions. With the help of brand new Full Resolution High Definition video equipment, I will bring this all new original story to you on a brand new format like you’ve never seen before. This new project will break any boundary ever set for independent film productions. Expect the unexpected, and finally expect something new that I have never done before. When I look back Star Trek: Encarta was the project that started this leap; it kept my course steady and true. For that I will bring anyone that was ever involved in it the chance to get back what they put in. This spring you will have the chance to witness this epic treasure on the big screen. Ladies and gentlemen, I soon present to you… Encarta IV: Dark Hope! I am narrowing down a theatrical release date falling on a Monday or Wednesday. Those dates are either Monday April 7th, Monday April 14th, Wednesday April 9th or Wednesday April 16th. Personally I am leaning toward April 7th, please respond to this and help me narrow down a date where you, your loved ones and friends could come out and help support all of the artistic work. Especially members of the cast, this is an awesome experience and I’d like everyone that was in the film to see it! That date I will be handing out free DVD’s of the film to cast & crew.
We are looking to premiere at Studio 28 in Grand Rapids, MI and hopefully fill 90 seats. This will take a lot of word of mouth. There will be lights, red carpets and muscle cars. The cost unfortunately I cannot afford but will pull out of my savings if I must, so I am looking for a sponsor. We need someone to help front the cash to premiere this film. They could be advertised in front of the movie in front of 100 people (if company). Please if anyone knows anyone willing to do this I encourage you to let me know.
StarTrekEncarta.com the official home of the Star Trek Encarta movie franchise is set to re-launch tomorrow evening with extensive video content and HD trailers of the new movie. I am sad to note however that due to financial restrictions and new artistic endeavors Novel Cinema Pictures will not be renewing StarTrekEncarta.com this year. Star Trek Encarta.com has been the web home for nearly 7 years, effective in July 2008 StarTrekEncarta.com will be logging off. I feel it will be the right time, since there will be no further Encarta productions. Rest assured, the URL will remain active and the site will remain intact for sometime as we release the film online the demand will still exist for people wanting to come somewhere to watch the whole movie. Obviously as time moves on we will be looking to phase out the branding.
Very special thanks to all involved, especially --
Jeremy Wolgemuth – Writer, Producer, Visual Effects
Robert Ford – He sticks like glue even 4 years later!
David Fix – Over 7 years of support! We thank him for Spartan Studios
and his intellectual input. He always believed.
Thanks Everyone,
Ryan Webber
